- J.L. Dillard Dies At Hospital Here. -
Jesse Lee Dillard, a resident of Stafford County for the last 16 years, died yesterday in Mary Washington Hospital after a long illness. Dillard was a lifelong member of Fredericksburg Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora Baker Dillard; three daughters, Mrs. Edwin Allen, of Stafford County, Mrs. Harry Wells, of Spotsylvania, and Mrs. George Vivacqua, of New York City; one son, Mason R. Dillard, of Stafford; three sisters, Mrs. Dan Pitts, Mrs. George Baker and Mrs. Preston Payne, all of Fredericksburg; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Robert F. Caverlee, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Wheeler & Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be S.C. Abrams, Jim Sullivan, Shae Sullivan, Richard Sullivan, Frank Gallahan and John McAllister. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Baraca Bible Class, Dr. Lloyd Moss, Dr. Claude Nunnally, Dr. James Willis, Pat Moran and Pat Mullen. (Fredericksburg) The Free Lance-Star - Feb. 23, 1952.
