ARNOLD D. FARMER
Arnold D. Farmer, 81, of Mountain Home, AR passed to heaven on April 15, 2012 at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House. He was born on August 4, 1930 in Gainesville, MO the son of Arnold H. and Lucy (Shelton) Farmer.
Arnold was a graduate of Gainesville High School, class of 1948. After an early graduation in December, he joined the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. When he returned, Arnold moved to Wichita, KS where he met and married Donna "Toots" Coffey on October 17, 1952. Arnold worked for the Aircraft Industry and was able to travel all over the world on the job. He and Toots lived in various parts of the United States, as well as many foreign countries during his many years in the business. Arnold retired in 1992 from his job at the home office in St. Louis, MO and moved to Mountain Home. Since his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, going to see family, and watching his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals. Arnold was a Christian and attended church at East Side Baptist in Mountain Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Donna "Toots" Farmer of the home; one son Rod Farmer and his wife Gabi of Atoka, TN; two granddaughters Jennifer Rahn and husband Bill of Aurora, CO and Christine Farmer of Los Angeles, CA; one great grandson Eli Rahn; two sisters Geraldine Smith of Rogersville, MO and Norene Smith of Ellis, KS; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Chapel, Gainesville, MO with Amos Coffey and Gordon Rhodes officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Pontiac Cemetery.
