Eulogy: Lorel was the fifth child and third son of Harry Lerenoz Benson and Anna Amelia Cherry Benson. He attended school at St. Anthony and Farnum, Idaho. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps on his 18th birthday,1940. He was at Peral Harbor during the infamous attack which initiated the Japanese hostilities of World War II. He saw active combat duty with the Marine in the South Pacific area throughout the second World War. Lorel moved to Southern California in 1948. Was married to Gwen Reeder and had four children: Cathy, Tom, Bryan and Steven. When Gwen passed away in 1959. Lorel married again in 1960 to Helen Pauline Wilson and they had one son David. Lorel was a kind and loving person. He was know for his generosity and his willingness to help others. He will always be remembered fondly by all those who knew and loved him.
