CLONTS, John Bryant, 72, 102 South 22nd St. Gadsden, died yesterday at 10:40 p.m. in a local hospital after a brief illness. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ada Frances Clonts. daughters, Mrs. Jesse Butler, Attalla: Mrs. Gene Lyons, Gadsden: Mrs. Billy Tomz, Wilmington, North Carolina, sons, Frank and Ernest Clonts, both of Gadsden; Jack Clonts, Rome, Georgia; Elmer Clonts, Attalla, brother, William H. Clonts, Gadsden, 25 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. in Collier-Butler Chapel with the Mr. Curtis Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Larry Clay, John Butler, Larry Butler, G. L. Rowan, Thomas Clontz, Norman Hulsey. Honorary pallbearers will be all personal friends. Mr. Clonts was native of Fannin County, Georgia, a resident of Etowah County most of his lifetime, and was a member of the Sansom Avenue Church of Christ. He was a retired painter. The body will remain at Collier-Butler Parlors through the hour of service.
