PEMBROKE - Charles C. Aspinwall, 78, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, died June 6, 2008, at East Georgia Regional Center.

Aspinwall was a native of Ware County, and had lived in Bulloch County for almost seven years. He retired from Union Camp after 40 years of service, was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and enjoyed working in his yard and garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Merritt Aspinwall and Gussie Bethune Aspinwall, and a brother, Hubert Aspinwall.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Lanier Aspinwall of Pembroke; two daughters, Cheryl Aspinwall (David) Drury of Callawassie Island, S.C., and Lisa Marie Aspinwall of Chatham County; two sisters, Jean Aspinwall Kingry of Jacksonville, Fla., and Nina Aspinwall (Dave) Casebeer of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, David (Eloise) Aspinwall of Richmond Hill, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were June 9 in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Eason officiating. Burial was in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

Hodges-Moore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
