Funeral services for Viola Esther (Rhodd) Allen are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Matthew Brown, O.S.B., and Brother Justin Jones are set to officiate.
Rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday at the family home in Asher. Burial is to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Konawa under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Allen died Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at her home in Asher at the age of 87.
She was born May 16, 1915 in Sacred Heart to John Baptist and Adeline (Thorpe) Rhodd. She married Wallace H. Allen on Nov. 21, 1933 in Tonkawa. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Allen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Richard Allen and Alexander Allen; two sisters, Hazel Williamson and Edith Nave; and one brother, Alexander Rhodd.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Allen Mitchell of Asher; three sons, Johnny G. Allen of Locust Grove, Wallace H. Allen Jr. of Tahlequah, and Jerry D. Allen of Muskogee; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Eva Jordan and Johnnie Mae Tallbear, both of St. Louis, and Charolette Alderson and Cleada Curly, both of Maud; and one brother, Frank Rhodd of Konawa.
Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Lenden Allen, Mark Allen, Scott Allen, Dr. Anthony Waldroup, Patrick Waldroup, Kelly Love
