Charlotte Artensia Alderson, age 87, "walked on" October 12, 2010, at home in Maud, Oklahoma with her family and friends at her bedside.

A Rosary service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 14th at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, and a Catholic Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa, Oklahoma. Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwerh will officiate. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Charlotte Alderson, better known as "Choc" was born on October 10, 1923, at Sacred Heart, Oklahoma to John Baptist and Adeline (Thorpe) Rhodd. She was a homemaker and joined the "working force" when she lost her husband, Joe in 1966. Choc loved to fish and loved all kinds of sports. She never met a stranger. Family meant everything to her. "Grandma" was her favorite word. Her sisters were her best friends, and her brother was her moral support. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Konawa, and a member of the Altar Society and a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.

Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Ann Shelley of Maud, Oklahoma; four granddaughters, Michelle Isaacs and Kristy Smith of Oklahoma City, Felecia Freeman of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and Summer McKinse of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and her white granddaughter, Sarah Jordan of Tecumseh, Oklahoma one grandson, Travis Sean Alderson of Maud, Oklahoma; six great Grandchildren; and three sisters, Cleda Curley of Maud, Oklahoma, Eva Jordon of St. Louis, Oklahoma, and Johnnie TallBear of St. Louis, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Joe Alderson; one son, Leonard Joe Alderson, Jr.; her parents, John and Adeline Rhodd; one granddaughter, Tina Isaacs Everett; one daughter-in-law, Frankie Jo Alderson, one son-in-law, Marcus Shelley, three sisters, Viola Allen, Edith Nave, and Hazel Williamson; and one brother, Frank Edward Rhodd.
