Annie was the daughter of George W. Smoak and Susannah Rentz Smoak. She married Henry Franklin Pearson in about 1876 in Bamberg County, where they lived on lands inherited from her father's estate near U. S. Highway 601 south of Bamberg.
They were the parents of three Children: John Henry, who married Rebecca Mitchell; Ben F. Pearson, a bachelor; and Emma, who married first a Mr. Zeigler from Ehrhardt and after his death Carey Smoak. Emma Pearson and Carey Smoak were the parents of the following Bamberg residents: Elberta Smoak, who married Ernest Brickle: Cecil Smoak, who married Daisy Jones; Annie Lou Smoak, who married James W. Dukes; and Erma Lee Smoak, who married (1) Cecil Brickle and (2) John Renken and resides in Charleston.
