BURLEY • Vida Elva Lindh, 90, of Burley, Idaho, passed away Monday, Jan 30, 2012, in the Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley, with her loving sons holding her hand.
Vida was born Dec. 17, 1921, in Springdale, Idaho. She spent some time in Granite, Utah, when her parents moved to live with her grandfather. The family moved back to Burley in the early 1930s, and she has lived in the area ever since. She attended Overland Elementary School and Burley High School.
Her first marriage was to Rupert Jackson in 1939, and they were the parents of four sons, Charles (Nola), Lonnie (Kay), Bob (Ellen) and Dennis (Jerri). Vida and Rupert divorced in 1953, and Vida worked very hard to support her family of four boys. Vida married Henry Lindh in May of 1956. The family moved to a farm about four miles west of Paul, Idaho, on Highway 25. They sold the farm in the early 1970s and moved to Paul. Henry died in 1995 and Vida lived in Paul until last year. She then moved to Highland Estates in Burley, an assisted living facility in Burley. She enjoyed spending time with her family, the outdoors, fishing and doing handwork.
Vida is survived by her brother, Jack (Lois) Thomson; her sister, Gladys McKeeth; her four sons; 13 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at the Morrison/Payne Funeral Home, 321 E. Main St. in Burley. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the First Baptist Church, 25 N. Fourth E. in Paul, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Internment will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley. Arrangements are under the direction of the Morrison-Payne Funeral Home in Burley.
