Lib was the daughter of Fred J. & Matilda Lavinia (Tillie) Sparger. She met Vert Kenerson in the summer of 1937 and they were married in Greensboro, NC in November 1937. She graduated from Greensboro High School and attended Woman's College of UNC (now UNCG). She and Vert had four children. She died of an asthma attack while living with a daughter and son-in-law in Virginia following her retirement.
