NEWSPAPER OBITUARY FOR MAGGIE MAY BERRY
Tahlequah, OK- Funeral services for Maggie May McCollum-Berry will be held on Monday, April 16th, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Billy Holcomb officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 14th, 2012 from noon until 8:00 PM at the Reed-Culver Chapel in Tahlequah.
Maggie May Berry was born on March 16th, 1950 in Tahlequah, OK.Maggie was the daughter of Ulice Homer and Margaret Emaline (Poor) McCollum. She finished her high school education and then started raising her family in the Tahlequah area. A nurse aide by profession, Maggie was a devoted, caring, and compassionate person. She loved the people entrusted to her care and often went the extra mile to see their needs were met. She was lively, and blessed with a great sense of humor, with practical jokes being one of her specialties. When she wasn't working, she loved to work in her garden, look for antiques, attend auctions, and simply being with her soul mate, Don Osman, her children, grand and great grandchildren. She possessed a soft spot for nature and loved her canine and feline companions she shared her home with. Even though she had a wonderful sense of humor, her grandchildren remember that she was a "force to be reckoned with." You only thought Grandma didn't know what you were up to. Surprisingly, she kept their little "messes" secret and made a joke of the mishap later. Maggies health failed her and she passed from this life on Thursday, April 12th, 2012 at home with her loving family gathered at her side. She was 62 years of age. Maggie leaves a lasting memory of love, laughter, and a legacy of many grand and great grandchildren.
Maggie is preceded in death by her parents, her son Danny Osman and her daughter Berdetta Osman, her sister Helen Philpott, and her four brothers, Herman, Norman, Kenneth and Robert McCollum.
Those left to cherish her memory include the love of her life, Don Osman of the home, and her loving children, Chandra Hudson and husband John of Stilwell, Kimberly Blair and husband Rickie of Bunch, Lonnie Berry of Tahlequah, Don Osman and wife Donna of Vinita, OK, Dana Jackson of Tahlequah, DeeAnn Osman of Tahlequah, Fonda Manes of Tahlequah, as well as her grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
