Son of Rufus Lee Hendricks (1837-1911) & Pheloma? (sp?) Lafferty (1840-1915). Peter married sometime bef 1883 in ? to Julia Ann Jarrell, d/o Leftridge Jarrell & Mary Jane "Polly" Meadows. Julia (b 1861 - d ?).Peter was the son of Rufus and Mary (Laverty) Hendricks. He married Julia Ann Jarrell 1882 in Orgas, Boone, West Virginia. He was buried July 17, 1928 in his family's cemetery.

Injuries Fatal To Aged Orgast Man

Peter Hendricks, 72, Died Here Is Hospital Following An Automobile Accident

Peter Hendricks, coal operator and merchant of Orgast, aged 72 years, died at a local hospital Sunday afternoon from injuries he received in an accident Saturday afternoon when the automobile in which he was returning to his home in Orgast from a visit in Madison, collided with a car being driven by Mrs. Dawson, of Whitesville. The accident occured on the Whitesville - Madison road and both cars are said to have been going at a high rate of speed. Kenna Hendricks was also in the Hendricks machine but his injuries are not serious. Mrs. Dawson is suffering from cuts, bruises and shock.

The funeral of Mr. Hendricks will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian church at Orgast and will be in charge of the I.O.O.F. and Rebekah lodges of Orgast. He is survived by his widow and three sons, Wade, Tilden and Kenna.
