Early Life: Jay was born December 9, 1942, to Nelton Arthur and Ruth Leavitt Burgess. At age nine, he and his family moved to Provo, Utah, where he graduated from Provo High School.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: In 1960, he joined the United States Army. While stationed, he met the love of his life, Sarah Fay Noland; they were married May 10, 1963. They had three beautiful daughters during their wonderful life together: Patricia Coleen (Joey) Pickens, Jaylynn Burgess and Tiffany Radmall. Jay enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and vacations with his family. He devoted his life to his family and showed his love for them at all times. Jay was a very hard worker and was employed at the Utah State Hospital for about 40 years. He was able to retire in the spring of 2003 as the head director over maintenance. During his retirement, he used that time for his children, grandchildren, and taking care of his wife. Jay Arthur Burgess passed away September 2, 2019, while surrounded by his loving family. He was 76.

Survived By: His daughters, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
