SPANISH FORK. Theodore Dahl Dedrickson, 68, died Monday night at the family home of a heart ailment. He was a lifelong resident of Spanish Fork, being born here August 1, 1871, to Theodore and Maren Jacobsen Dedrickson. He received his education in the public school of Spanish Fork. He married Eleanor Braithwaite, February 16, 1898, at Manti. In his early manhood he was engaged in the drug store business in Spanish Fork, and known as an outdoor enthusiast and sportsman. For many years he maintained a recreation camp near the Strawberry lake, where he rented boats and acted as a guide to fishermen during the summer.
He is survived by his widow, two sons and four daughters, Gilbert and Royal Dedrickson, Mrs. Alta Durfee and Mrs. Ruby James, all of Spanish Fork; Mrs. Hazel Ostler of Santa Monica, Ca., and Mrs. Ruth Granger of Cedar City; 16 grandchildren, two half brothers, Theodore Dedrickson of Bakersfield, Cal., and John Dedrickson of Salt Lake City, and a sister, Grace Dedrickson of Spanish Fork.
Funeral serves will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Second ward L.D.S. church by Bishop H. Eugene Hughes. Friends may call at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ruby James, prior to the service. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City cemetery under direction of the Claudin funeral home.
Funeral services were held at the Second ward meeting house last Thursday afternoon over the remains of Theodore D. Dedrickson. Bishop H. Eugene Hughes presided and the ward choir, under the direction of Jesse Ludlow with Fern Brockbank at the organ, sang "Come Ye Disconsolate." The opening prayer was offered by Bishop Elisha Warner, after which Gilbert Y. Johnson sang "Out of the Dusk to You," accompaniment by Mrs. Fern Brockbank. Tributes written by Spencer Mackley and Gene Braithwaite were read by Mrs. Ruth H. Brockbank. Speakers were Mayor John E. Booth, Judge Joseph E. Nelson, and President Henry A. Gardner, all of whom spoke of the many admirable traits of character of the deceased. During the services a solo, "Let This Be Heaven," was sung by Blaine Johnson, accompanied by Beulah Madsen; and a duet, "Beautiful Sunset," was sung by Nelda Christensen and Leah Webb, with Mrs. Hazel C. Larsen at the piano.
After a few closing remarks by Bishop Hughes, the choir sang, "I Need Thee Every Hour," and the benediction was pronounced by Rawsel S. Bradford.
