Charles Earl Ritterhouse was the son of George Ritterhouse and Cora Bell Tyner Shipman Ritterhouse. He was born on June 30, 1892 in Axtell, Marshall County, Kansas. When he was about 2 years old his parents brought him to Mutual, Woodward County, Oklahoma Territory to homestead. He was an Oklahoma Pioneer. In his early years he helped his parents on the 160 Acre homestead to change it from the raw land to a very productive farm. As a young man he entered the Army for World War I and served in France and Germany. After the war he met Edna Juanita Irvine from Cestos/Richmond and married her on June 17, 1922. They settled in the Cestos/Richmond area and farmed for many years. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1972 at the Richmond Christian Church. After Edna had a stroke and moved to the Vici nursing home he lived with their daughter Mary Ellen Arnold in Vici. The children are:
