Cora Bell Tyner Shipman Ritterhouse Huffman.
Cora Bell Tyner was the daughter of Mary Ellen Crandall and Henry Clay Tyner. She was born September 14, 1869 in Morristown Indiana. She married Albert Shipman on March 22, 1888 in Axtell, Marshall County, Kansas. To this marriage 2 boys were born in Thornburg, Iowa. In March of 1891 Albert Shipman died of consumption at the home of Henry Clay Tyner in Axtell, Marshall Co. Kansas. She then married George Ritterhouse on August 26, 1891 in Axtell, Marshall County, Kansas. Cora and George had 2 boys born in Axtell, Kansas before departing for the Oklahoma Strip to homestead. They then homesteaded a 160 Acre farm at Mutual, Woodward County, Oklahoma. Six more children blessed this family on the homestead. She became the postmistress in the town of Mutual and was credited with suggesting the name of Mutual for the town, which the Post Office Department accepted. George Ritterhouse died January 20, 1924 and was buried in the Dunlap Cemetery. Cora then married George Washington Huffman and he died on December 2, 1933. Cora died on June 1, 1945 and was laid to rest next to George Ritterhouse in the Dunlap Cemetery.
