IDA B. BROADWATER — LONACONING — Ida Bell Broadwater, 80, of Beachwood Street, Lonaconing, Md., died Monday, April 1, 1957, at Miners Hospital, Frostburg, Md.

Born on April 12, 1876, in Garrett County, Md., she was a daughter of the late Levi M. Bittinger Sr., and Rebecca Susan (Broadwater) Bittinger. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Mortimer T. Broadwater, on Jan. 14, 1923; one daughter, Elsie R. Green; five brothers, William Bittinger, George Bittinger, James Bittinger, Geri Bittinger and Howard Bittinger, and one sister, Nancy Bittinger.

Surviving are seven daughters, Bertha F. Weir, of Lonaconing; Lucinda E. Green, of Gilmore; Laura A. Warnick, of Barton; Frances I. Broadwater, of Philadelphia, Pa.; Lora A. Wilt, of Westernport; Mary C. Smith, of Baltimore, and Margaret F. Green, of Alexandria, Va.; three sons, Augustus D. Broadwater, of Moscow; Charles W. Broadwater, of Frostburg, and Elbert T. Broadwater, of Barton; 43 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Silas Bittinger and Joseph Bittinger, both of Grantsville; Harrison Bittinger, of Baltimore; Levi Bittinger Jr., of Swanton, and John Bittinger, of Lonaconing, and three sisters, Mary Green, of Nike; Harriet Broadwater, of Barton, and Martha Beeman, of Grantsville.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Assembly of God Church here with Rev. Everett Hunt in charge.

Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

The body is at the Eichhorn Funeral Home and will be taken to the church at noon on Wednesday.

In Ida's obituary, her mother's maiden name is the name of Ida's maternal grandfather, Rebecca's father (Noble) but, Noble Broadwater.
