Funeral services for Mrs. William Givens, 81, will be conducted at Perkins Sunday.
Mrs. Givens, who died Thursday at her home, came to Payne county in 1897. Wesley Porter of Cushing, will conduct the services at the Assembly of God church at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Bethel cemetery under the direction of Vincent Funeral Home.
She was born in Butler county, Kentucky, Aug. 31, 1865, the daughter of J.T. and Almedia Ewing. She was married to William Givens in Kansas in 1883. Her husband died Oct. 21, 1925. Survivors include two sons, Ed Givens of Perkins, and Richard Givens of California; a brother, Franklin Ewing of Iola, Kas.; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren."

That little metal memorial marker lying ontop of the large GIVENS stone is the only marker I saw at the cemetery for GGrandmother, Samantha.
