John W. Marshall died at his home on Duke Street on Tuesday afternoon between three and four o'clock from an attack of acute indigestion. Mr. Marshall,, who was employed as a rougher in Van Alen's Mill, went home at noon and ate his dinner in great haste in order to get back to the mill to complete the job he had on hand. About two o'clock he was through for the day and with several fellow employees he started for home. When he neared his home he was overcome by dizziness and his comrades had to assist him to the house. Medical aid was immediately secured and after working with him for some time he was apparently relieved. However he died about four o'clock.

The deceased was 43 years of age and was a son of John and Barbara Marshall, deceased, being one of a family of thirteen children, of which there are nine remaining, as follows: Mrs. E. E. Camp of Wilkes Barre, Miss Francis Marshall of Philadelphia, Mrs. William Miller, Mrs. John Burke and Miss Alice Marshall of this place, and Daniel, William, Thomas and Edward Marshall of town. A widow, who was Miss Katherine Kerstetter of McKees Half Falls, and was married to Mr. Marshall about twenty years ago, and two daughters, Mabel and Alina, are left by the deceased. Mr. Marshall was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was an Odd Fellow.

The funeral was held Thursday afternoon. The services at the home of the deceased was conducted by Rev. H. C. Michael. At the grave in Riverview Cemetery the service was in charge of the Odd Fellows. E. K. Bright was the funeral director.
