Edward is named as the last child of Barbara and John Marshall in the Marshall Family Bible. His date of birth is recorded here as well. A surviving 1924 Northumberland Borough Directory indicates that Edward was a fireman and that he resided at 324 4th Street and was married to Mable L. He was nicknamed "Ted", and was popular among his nieces, especially those living in Halifax, PA. "Uncle Ted" worked on the railroad as a "brakeman", and would wave to his nieces from the back of "his" caboose when the train went through the little town of Halifax.
---------------------------------------------------------
Ted was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, located in Northumberland, PA. From extracted church records we learn of his marriage to Mable Martin, and that he was confirmed into the Lutheran faith on Jan. 19, 1906. His marriage may have also taken place on this date as well. Ted and his wife Mable resided w/Mable's parents, James and Rebecca Martin, on Queen Street, Northumberland, as evident from the 1910 US PA census records. Ted was 23 at the time, and his wife was 24. He listed his occupation as a "brakeman". After Mable died Ted moved to Williamsport, and married for a second time to Sarah-------. surname unknown.
