Ella was gifted with a clear Soprano voice and was in much demand as a soloist. She taught voice at the Synodical College in Fulton, Missouri and at Christian College (now Columbia College) in Columbia, Missouri.
Nick and Ella had one son, John Martin Cave, who practiced law in Fulton from March 1946 until he was elected Circuit Judge.
Ella died November 1963.

Dr. E.R. Gish, of Fulton, pronounced death caused by Myocardial Failure due to Cohesion Toxemia Metastatic Cancer of the Liver and Rectosigmoid. The informant was John M. Cave of Fulton.
