John Martin Cave, age 83, of Fulton, Missouri passed away on Monday, December 27, 1999.

Services were held at 2:00pm Sunday, January 2, 1999, at First Baptist Church in Fulton with Reverend's Stephen Sowder and Raymond McAllister. Arrangements were under Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri.

John was born August 5, 1916, in Fulton, Missouri, the son of Nicolas "Nick" and Ella Pauline (Martin) Cave. He was married to Harriett (Gooch) Cave on June 17, 1944, in Teheran, Iran. Harriett survives him at their home.

John graduated from Hickman High School in Jefferson City, Missouri in 1934, University of Missouri in 1938 and Harvard Law School in 1941.

John served in the United States Army during World War 11 in Persian Gulf Command. In 1994, Russian President Boris Yeltsin honored him with a Commemorative Medal for his service in World War 11.

John practiced law in Fulton, Missouri and served two terms as Prosecuting Attorney. He served as Circuit Judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit from 1965-1983. John then taught Business Law at Westminster College from 1983-1987.

John was a member of First Baptist Church on Fulton. Served as chairman of Fulton's Charter Commission and was a member of Human Rights Commission in Fulton. He was a member of the Rotary Club for more than fifty years.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Harriett; sons, Nick Cave11 of Overland Park, Kansas, John Cave 11 of Kansas City, Missouri and David Cave of Derry, New Hampshire; daughter, Sara McMellen of Nixa, Missouri; eight grandchildren.
