The funeral was held this afternoon from the Evangelical church at Vanceburg. Rev. A. Lockwood of the Methodist church at Dallas officiated. Interment was made in Vanceburg cemetery.
Mr. Harmon was born in Dane county April 3, 1850. He moved with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Harmon to a homestead six miles north of Prairie Farm. At an early age he started to work for Isaac Sprague at Prairie Farm and was in the employ of the Knapp, Stout & Co. company for many years, toting supplies between Menomonie and Prairie Farm.
He was married in 1872 to Ellen Olson who died 14 years ago. The years after his marriage he homesteaded the farm in Sheridan, where he resided more than 50 years, and which is now owned by his son, Orson, with whom he has made his home for several years.
Three sons survive: Orson, town of Sheridan; Isaac E., Cheney Wash.; William S., Spokane, Wash. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Susanna Tucker, Rice Lake.
