Our loving mother, Elizabeth Phillips Sutphin, 97, of Indian Valley, Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Sutphin; infant son, Darrell W. Sutphin; son, Buford A. Sutphin; granddaughter, Teresia S. Young; grandson, Brent Gerald; great- granddaughters, Allison Turman and Breanna Peak; and son-in-law, Glen Quesenberry.
She is survived by her children, Mozell S. Quesenberry, Aaron N. Sutphin (Betty), Glenna S. Cox (Joe), John W. Sutphin (Joyce), Kathryn S. Gerald (Fred), Vera S. Hall (Troy), and Katie S. Moore (Cecil); grandchildren, Donna and Charlie Smith, Randall and Priscilla Quesenberry, Trena and Jamie Stanley, Patsy and Rudy Turman, Marietta and Kenny Monahan, Anthony and Virginia Quesenberry, Lloyd and Vicky Sutphin, Larry (Moe) and Rhonda Sutphin, Michael and Jessie Lytton, Phillip and Myra Cox, Gary Cox, Greg and Melissa Cox, Kimberly Sutphin, Bridgette and Matt Tickle, John Freddie Gerald, Jr. and Lisa, Phaedra and Justin Lewis, Tara and Darrell Hollandsworth, Natasha Snare, and Trey Moore; 30 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Indian Valley Church of God, with the Rev. Kenneth Poston and the Rev. Joe Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012, at the church.
