Woodrow Wilson Sutphin, 92, of 1988 Macks Mt. Rd., went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2005.

He was born on January 21, 1913 to the late John Owen and Laura Virginia Sutphin.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, Buford A. Sutphin and Darrel W. Sutphin, and a special granddaughter, Teresia Sutphin Young.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 70 years, Claudia Elizabeth [Phillips] Sutphin. He was blessed with two sons and daughters-in-law, Aaron and Betty Sutphin, John and Joyce Sutphin, all of Willis; five daughters and sons-inlaw, Mozell and Glen Quesenberry, Glenna and Joseph Cox, Kathryn and Fred Gerald, all of Willis; Vera and Troy Hall, Katie and Cecil Moore, all of Indian Valley. Surviving grandchildren include Donna and Charlie Smith, Randall and Priscilla Quesenberry, Trena Peak, Marietta and Mike Lawson, Anthony and Virginia Quesenberry, Patsy and Rudy Turman, Lloyd and Vicky Sutphin, Moe and Rhonda Sutphin, Michael and Michelle Lytton, Phillip and Myra Cox, Gary Cox, Greg and Melissa Cox, Kimberly and Bridgette Sutphin, Freddie and Lisa Gerald, Brent and Brandy Gerald, Phaedra and Justin Lewis, Tara E. Hall, Trey Moore, Natasha and Matthew Snare; twenty-five great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; six step great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Shirley and Doug Phillips and son, David; one sister, Clarice Duncan, Blacksburg; two sisters-in-law, Ricie Quesenberry, Indian Valley; Nellie Phillips, Christiansburg; special friend, Raymond Flinchum, Dublin; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held on Friday, March 11, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Indian Valley Church of God with Rev. Vinton Quesenberry, Rev. Joe Cox, and Rev. Kenneth Poston officiating.

Interment followed at Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery, Indian Valley.
