Justin Fonda Dies at Age 76 - Mayfield - Justin Fonda, 76, of Mayfield RD 1, died at 6:30 yesterday morning at Albany Veterans Hospital where he was a patient since March. He had been in failing health the last two years. He was born July 26, 1900, in Mayfield. He was employed as a glove cutter by the Arthur B. Goossen Glove Company before his retirement 12 years ago, Mr. Fonda was an Army veteran of World War I serving with the 27th Infantry Division. He was a charter member of the Fulton County VFW post and a charter member of the Mayfield Servicemen's Club. He also was a member of Glove Cities Veterans of World War I and of the 27th Division Association. He was of the United Methodist faith. Survivors include his wife, the former Lillian Van Nostrand; one son, Donald Fonda of New Egypt, N.J.; one daughter, Mrs. Annette Elmendorf of Warrensburg, Warren County; one stepson, Walter Hayes of Mayfield; one brother, Nelson Fonda of Broadalbin; two sisters, Mrs. Violet Trevett of Gloversville and Mrs. Bess Duell of Albany; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
