Suzanne G. Verrette Crawford, 78, of East Syracuse, passed away Saturday in her home after a long battle with breast cancer. Born in Syracuse on April 20, 1933, to the late Gertrude and Leon Verrette, Suzanne graduated from St. Vincent de Paul High School and was a member of St. Matthew's Church. Suzanne worked at Chappell's and Peddler's Pouch and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed SU basketball, the Adirondacks and, most of all, her family. Suzanne is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph; her five children, Sheila (Ron) Linhart of Brighton, MI, Kevin (Georgette) Crawford of Cleveland, NY, Amy (George) Walters of Chittenango, Kristen (Chris) Marciniak of Hastings and Mike (Margaret) Crawford of Auburn; her 12 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her sister, Mary Ellen Burgess; and brother, David Verrett. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Donald Verrette. The family would like to thank Jenn, Jane and Heather of Hospice and Dr. Anthony Scalzo and staff. Services: 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel and 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church, East Syracuse. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Family and friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville.
