Elmer was the son of Joseph and Julia Ann (Wagner) Dreiling.

Elmer D. Dreiling, 82, Penokee, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at his home. He was born Aug. 22, 1929, in rural St. Peter to Joseph Nicholas and Julia (Wagner) Dreiling.

He married Nina Woodside on April 20, 1954, in St. Peter.

A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer and stockman and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and St. Peter Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Joseph Steven Dreiling, Security, Colo., and Elmer D. Dreiling Jr., Mooresville, Ind.; a daughter, Colleen Stratman, Overalad Park; a sister, Albina Rome, Aurora, Colo.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Peter; burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Masses or Christ the King Catholic Church Building Fund, WaKeeney.
