Moses Hale was born February 2, 1731 or 1732 in Rowley, MA, the son of Moses and Elizabeth (Wheeler) Hale. Moses moved with his family as a child to Hampstead, NH. He married in Hampstead, February 28, 1751-52, Abigail Emerson of Hampstead. Moses and Abigail had ten children, four born in Hampstead previous to moving to Rindge in 1760. In the Revolution Moses was in Capt. Josiah Brown's company and he was a signatory of the "Association Test" in Rindge in 1776. Moses was involved in the affairs of Rindge, he was selectman in 1772. In 1776 he was appointed Cheshire County coroner and later was elected county treasurer. He died March 2, 1799, aged 67 years.
