Services for Arthur Newton Anderson Sr., 83. of S Virginia St. will be at 10 a. m. Thursday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. John R. Christian officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

The body is at Hughart Funeral Home.

Mr. Anderson died at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Jennie Stuart Hospital after a long illness.

A Christian County native, he was born Sept 24, 1893, the son of Charlie and Meck Vaughn Anderson served as past president of the Hopkinsville Hunting and Fishing Club and former chairman of the Hopkinsville school board.

He was the last surviving charter member of Second Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. Mr. Anderson retired in 1952 after 40 years of service as the district manager of National Life and Accident insurance Co.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sarah Steger Anderson; two sons. Tommy of Winter Park, Fla., and Dr. A. N. Anderson Jr., city; two daughters. Mrs. Juanita McGee and Mrs. Marjorie Hall, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Bill Moore and Mrs. Hugh Brewer, all of this city; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
