---Vernon Amsler of Eckford village passed away Sunday at 2:25 p. m. at Oaklawn hospital, where he had been a patient since October 3. He was born September 17, 1890, in Hardin county, Ohio, coming to Eckford ten years ago. He was the son of Harmon and Maggie Amsler and was married to Miss Goldie Gallant of Ohio, on March 17, 1921. He was a member of the Homer American Legion Post and is survived by, besides his wife, Goldie, four daughters, Mrs. Verna Farmer of near Marshall, Mrs. Elnora Payne of Homer, Mrs. Zenith Van Zandt of Marshall and Miss Nancy Amsler at home; four sons, Cpl. Caddie Amsler, stationed in Washington state, Harold of Marshall, Vernon L. and Gene, both at home; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Esta Smith of Marshall and Mrs. Eva Warner of Toledo, O.; four brothers, Caddie of Cuba, O., Fred, Allie and Everett, all of Marshall; and several neices[sic] and nephews. One brother, William, passed away in Kenton, O., on October 7.
---Funeral services will be held from the Court funeral home Wednesday at 2:30 p. m., with the Rev. Joseph Kimbel in charge. Burial will follow in West Eckford cemetery. Friends who wish may call at the funeral home.

---Funeral services for Vernon Amsler of Eckford village, who died at Oaklawn hospital, Sunday afternoon, where he had been a patient since October 3, were held this afternoon at 2:30 p. m. from the Court funeral home, with the Rev. Joseph Kimbel officiating and with Mrs. Maureen Purcell at the organ. Burial followed at West Eckford cemetery, where committal services were in charge of the Homer American Legion Post.
---Casketbearers were Howard Bramble, Wendell Clark, Stephen Buskirk, Wayne Ray, Earl Sweet and John McCullough.
