Dorothy Hudson Rickertts, 95, of Westminster-Canterbury of Virginia Beach, went to her eternal rest on Thursday, March 25, 1999, in her residence.
She was born in Norfolk, the daughter of the late Capt. Asher J. Hudson and Hester Long Hudson, and was the widow of retired U.S. Navy Capt. Roland Wendell Rickertts. Mrs. Rickertts was a graduate of Maury High School, Virginia College Finishing School for Young Ladies in Roanoke and Longwood College. She was a lifelong member of Larchmont United Methodist Church in Norfolk, where she had formerly taught Sunday school for many years. She also was a member of the Larchmont Garden Club, the Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk Society of the Arts, Virginia Symphony and the Navy Officers' Wives Club.
Survivors include her beloved daughter, Anna R. Wetherill of Norfolk; a sister, Anna Hudson Milteer of Norfolk; a granddaughter, Dorothy W. Moses of Palmdale, Calif.; two grandsons, Richard R. Wetherill of Dallas, Texas, and John G. Wetherill of Woodbridge, Va.; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, by Dr. Harry Kennon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westminster-Canterbury Foundation Fund, 3100 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, Va. 23451, or to your favorite charity. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
