Phillip (Gus) Merrill
Phillip (Gus) Merrill, 91, of R. R. 3, Bloomington, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He had been a patient for six weeks.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Carmody Funeral Home, the Rev. Samuel Buck officiating. Burial will be in Funks Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 2 o'clock this afternoon at the funeral home.
He was born Oct 16, 1873, at Iron Mountain, Ky. He married Myrtle Hunter in 1907 at McLean.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gussie Ayers, 1301 W. Jackson: five sons, Arthur, Seattle, Wash.; Andrew, 702 W. Washington; James, R.R. 4; Ray and Fount, both of R. R. 3; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Lanhardt, 314 E.Stewart; Mrs. Liza Vermillion, and Mrs. Rhoda Metgarer, both of Louisville, Ky., 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
His wife, a daughter, a sister and a brother preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Park Methodist Church.
