GLENFIELD-Ronald E. Tiffany, 65, of Fayetteville, NY, formerly of Glenfield passed away suddenly from heart failure on Monday, April 2 at his home.
Ron graduated from South Lewis Central School in June 1964 and from Canton Tech in 1966. Ron went on to graduate from Albany State University in 1968 with a Bachelor's degree in accounting. He served with the United States Air Force for four years, honorably discharged on July 3, 1972 with a rank of Staff Sergeant.
He was employed as a senior programmer with Salina Office Services from 1972 until he retired in 2009. He was instrumental in developing software for nursing home administration.
Ron enjoyed spending time with family at the family camp on Chase Lake. He enjoyed reading and was an avid movie critic.
Ron was born in Lowville, NY on July 6, 1946 to Donald and Sarah McCue Tiffany. He is survived by his mother Sarah Tiffany, three sisters and brothers-in-law Linda (David) Seymour-Mt. Pleasant, SC; Margaret (John) Jaconski-Manlius, NY; Barbara (Scott) Kellogg-Hadley, MA; a brother and his wife Richard (Carol) Tiffany-Croghan, NY; and a brother-in-law Michael LaFave of Voorheesville, NY. As well as several nieces and nephews that were his pride and joy. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Donald Tiffany in 2002 and his sister, Lori LaFave in 2003.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with the Rev. Bruce Chapman, a family friend officiating. There will be a calling hour from 1-2 p.m.prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glenfield Methodist Church, c/o Elinor Olmstead, Glenfield, NY 13343.
