Wilbur K. Adams, 82, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Covenant Medical Center on Saturday, March 31, 2012, from complications of pneumonia.
Wilbur Kenneth Adams was born September 29, 1929 in Ames, Iowa, the son of Emory F. and Clara Fields Adams.
He married Eloise M. Colbert on October 9, 1947 at the Methodist Church in Waverly.
Wilbur graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1948. He and his wife owned and operated Waterloo Sickroom Equipment and Supplies, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of Grace Reformed Church for more than 55 years serving as an Elder, Deacon, Treasurer and Head Usher and volunteering on Wednesday Night Kids Club. Also, a member of the Gideons, Sertoma Club, Waterloo Elks, Waterloo Chamber of Commerce, and Waterloo Diplomats serving as President for 12 years. He volunteered at Covenant Medical Center as a driver for the Care-A-Van for many years as well as serving meals at the Salvation Army.
Wilbur is survived by his beloved wife Eloise of Waterloo; devoted daughter Kathy Brezinski and her husband Ben and adorable granddaughters: Kristin L. and Michaela D. Brezinski, all of Carnation, Washington; sister Vilda Crain of Phoenix, Arizona; brother Marion and his wife Delores of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by four sisters: Lola Miller, Eunice McCabe, Opal Boyer and Doris Holmes and four brothers: Melvin, Garold, Leland and Ivan.
