Deaths
Mamie Kosman
Mamie Kosman, 88, of rural Albia died October 12, 1985, at the Monroe County Hospital.
She was born Sept. 2, 1897, in Monroe County, the daughter of James J. and Mary Ann Judge Flattery. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.
On April 25, 1922, she married Harry Kosman in Georgetown. He died in 1960.
Survivors include three daughters, Marie Griffin of Albia, Rita Lee of Knoxville and Doris Craig of Des Moines; three sons, Francis, Harold and Garry, all of Albia; 31 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Alice Lemaster of Albin, Wyo.
Preceding her in death were two brothers and four sisters.
The funeral was 10:30 a. m . Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia with the Rev. M. J. Brothersen officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
A rosary was Sunday evening at the Humeston Gilbert Funeral Home in Albia. A memorial has been established to St. Mary's Church.
