Funeral services were held Saturday at the Needville Methodist Church for Mrs. Nora Mathilda Freund, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Lee, in Houston at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Freund, who was 74 years of age, was the great-granddaughter of David Crockett, Texas pioneer and soldier. Rev. W. Menking, pastor of the church, officiated at the services. Interment was in the Needville Public cemetery.
Mrs. Freund was born in Hood County, Texas and had been a resident of Houston for 23 years.
Survivors include Mrs. Lee and two other daughters, Mrs. Bertie Ives of Garvin, Okla. and Mrs. Nettie Allen of Sweeney; five sons, Tazwell Freund of Damon, Cecil and Troy Freund of Damon, William and Robert Freund of Houston; three brothers, Tom and David Crockett of Alex, Okla., and Ira Crockett of Kelso, Wash.; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
