The daughter of Johann Martin Conzelmann and Veronika Schuhe, Anna married Johan "Michael" Hoefel on 14 Sep 1847 in Germany. They were the parents of 8 children, though several died young.

About 1869, the family came to America and settled in Hermann, Gasconade County, Missouri. Anna was a homemaker, and her husband, Michael, worked as a potter.

Michael passed away around 1888.

After his death, Anna eventually moved to St. Louis, Missouri. She resided at 3448 South Broadway with her son, Fred, and his family. Like his brother, George, Fred worked as a baker.

Anna lived until 1901. She died at her home of what doctors attributed to pleurisy and heart failure. The attending physician who signed her Missouri death certificate was her nephew, Dr. Theodore W. Conzelman.
