He came to Fonda in 1912 and attended the Newell and O.L.G.C. schools. Mr. Lilly was a World War I veteran and was united In marriage to Margaret McGrath at Fonda in 1923. He worked as a contractor doing carpentry work for 20 years retiring in 1968.
Surviving are his widow, Margaret; 3 daughters: Mrs. George Green of Springfield, Nebraska,
Mrs. Louis Kelly of Marathon and Mrs. Robert Weiler of Columbus, Nebraska. Also surviving are a son, Tom of Cedar Rapids, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
