She was born near Piedmont, Kansas on October 29, 1911, the daughter of Frank and Daisy (O’Bryne) Brown. Norma was raised near Piedmont and attended rural schools there.
On April 22, 1934, she was united in marriage to Walt Atchison in Eureka. They made their home in Eureka where Norma worked for the telephone company as an operator for many years. She then worked at Barb’s Café and the Greenwood County Hospital before retiring in the mid 1980’s. Walt preceded her in death on May 4, 1992.
She is survived by one son, ... of Fort Smith Arkansas, one daughter, ... of Topeka, six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Wilma Donaldson of Neal, and Vera Glasco of Dodge City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and two sisters.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 10, 2004, at Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor Don Stice of the Eureka Church of God.
A memorial has been established in her name to Midland Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of the Koup Family Funeral Home which was in charge of service arrangements.
