James B. Chase, Sr. "Bart" Died, on July 2, 2006, in Murray, Utah of brain cancer. He was the second child of Irel and Louise Chase, born September 3, 1935, in Nephi, Utah.

He worked for 32 years in the U.S. Post Office and 15 years for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints security. At the time of his passing, he was a High Priest in the Little Cottonwood 12th Ward. Throughout his life he served in many callings in the church. He served a mission to Brazil from 1955 to 1958 under Asael Sorenson.

He married his sweetheart Rosemary Pinkerton on March 28, 1959, and on March 28, 1960, was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, and their children: James (Janet), Troy, Paul (Christine), Linda Garbett, Warren (Lori), Teena (Bryan) Jeppson, Dale (Lisa), Walter Chase, and John (Amanda). They have 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Lynn (Kathrine), Mary Lou (Wayne) Olsen, Laura Norris, and Randal (Debbie). He had numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Walter, and his parents, Irel and Louise.

Friends and family may call Friday, July 7, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray. Funeral, Saturday, July 8, 2006, 12:00 noon with a viewing one hour prior the services at the Little Cottonwood 12th Ward, 6180 South Glenoaks (680 East), Murray, Utah. Burial: Murray City Cemetery, 5490 South Vine Street, Murray, Utah.
