RIPLEY - Veatrice Wooley Ballard Timmons, 93, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at Tippah County Health Services in Ripley. She was born on November 3, 1918, to George and Ruthie Thomas Wooley in Tippah County. She was a homemaker and a member of North Ripley Baptist Church.
Services are at 1 p.m. today at McBride Funeral Home in Ripley with Bro. Bill Baker officiating. Internment is New Hope Cemetery in Ripley.
She is survived by three daughters, Diane Ford of Ripley, Shirley Huffstickler (Walter Ford) of New Albany, and Pat Harris (Bill) of Dunlap, Tenn.; one son, Sammy Ballard (Anita) of Ripley; one sister, Lorraine Heavener of Ripley; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ellis Ballard; second husband, Elbert Timmons; her parents; an infant son and daughter; sister Gracie Adkins; brother, George Wooley Jr., William Earl Wooley, and Roy Wooley; and grandchild. Shane Holbrook.
Pallbearers are Jason Ballard, Brian Holbrook, Robbie Richardson, Wayne Huffstickler, Josh Decanter, and Corey Ledbetter.
Visitation is 7 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home
