She was born August 31, 1928 to Gladys Mills Van Horn and Ross Van Horn in Edinburg, Texas.
Betty moved to Lonsdale, Arkansas at an early age. She married Vester Barnett on December 7, 1947.
She was a charter member of TOPS Arkansas #296 in Benton.
Betty was a member of Lonsdale Baptist Church.
She was preceeded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years; brothers
Robert and Richard Van Horn, and two daughters, Sharon Clark and Carla Miller.
Survivors include her sisters, Dora Nolan of Hillsboro, Texas and Flora Reich Barnett of Plain Dealing, Louisiana; daughter, Linda Howell and husband, John of Oviedo, Florida; son, Shelby Barnett and wife, Linda of Fountain Lake, Arkansas; son, Bobby Barnett and wife, Brenda of Ten Mile Community; son, Timothy Barnett and wife, Sheila of Ten Mile Community;
thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be at 4506 Fairplay Road, Benton, Arkansas from 5-7 P.M on Monday, April 2, 2012.
The funeral will be at Ten Mile Missionary Baptist Church, 17510 Church Road, Lonsdale, Arkansas 72087, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 with Reverend Richard Pope and Reverend Wesley Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Ten Mile Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors of Pine Bluff.
