Greene, 50th
The Rev. and Mrs. Joseph T. Greene, Sr., of Bloomingdale celebrated their 50 wedding anniversary Jan 16. with family members at a reception given at their home in Bloomingdale. Hosts were their children, Tom and Debbie Greene; and grandchildren, Thomas Greene and Kelly Green of Columbus.
The Rev. and Mrs. Greene were married in Savannah January 16, 1943, by the Rev. Lon Day, Sr., who is now deceased.
Mrs. Green is the former Jimmie Lee Patrick of Savannah. The Rev. Greene retired in 1982 following nearly 23 years as a pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Garden City.

BLOOMINGDALE -- The Rev. Joseph Thomas Greene, 80, died Feb. 27 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was a native of Bulloch County and a member of Bloomingdale First Baptist Church. He was a retired pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church, having served 23 years. He was a Marine and Army Air Corps veteran and a life member of Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the Solmon's Lodge No. 1 .
SURVIVORS: his wife, Jimmie Lee Patrick Greene of Bloomingdale; a son, J. Thomas Greene Jr. of Columbus; four sisters, Margaret Smith of Claxton, Lucille Bell, Beulah Kuntz and Judy Smith, all of Hinesville; four brothers, Jennings Greene of Pooler, Harold Greene of Beaufort, Seborn Greene of Pembroke and Robert Greene of Eldora; two grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 4-8 p.m. today at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Massey Chapel in Garden City.
FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Baptist Church, burial in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
