Joseph R. Augspurger died at Mennonite Hospital, Bloomington, Illinois on February 16, 1955.

He was born on August 7, 1877 at Danvers, Illinois, a son of Joseph S. and Jacobina Phoebe (Stuckey) Augspurger.

He married Lotta Elizabeth Orendorff on May 14, 1913 at Blooming Grove, Illinois.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Wayne Augspuger of Los Angeles, California; Herschel Augspurger of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Wendell Augspurger of Bloomington, Illinois; and Kenneth Augspurger of Abilene, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. James Maddox of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Stuckey and Mrs. Matilda Augspurger both of Danvers, Illinois; four brothers Rufus Augspurger of Carlock, Illinois; Harvey Augspurger of Jamestown, North Dakota; Emanuel Augspurger of Meadows, Illinois; and Ora Augspurger of Bloomington, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters.

Mr. Augspurger was a machinist and lived in the Chenoa, Illinois area for more years.

He was a member of the Chenoa Methodist Church.
