When Charles neared the end of his life, he put the farm on the market. Some city slickers from "in town" bought the place sight unseen as a retreat. Not until the day of closing did anyone realize that Charles & Alma's only son's, my grandfather, wife's parents (Gerberichs) were the buyers! The Gerberichs in Spring Lake are the brothers & wives of my great grandfather who went to a couple of the funerals there and never realized that is where his daughter's in-laws were buried.
