CAVE CITY — Aron Roy Estes, 88, of Cave City died Thursday, March 29, 2012, in a Batesville hospital.
Born Sept. 25, 1923, at Agnos, he was the son of John K. and Ada Heath Estes. He was a retired steel worker, having worked in Kansas City, Mo. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include a son, James Estes of Cave City; a daughter, Wanda Polston of Cave City; three grandchildren, Deanna Herndon of Cave City, Jill Womack of Durham, N.C., and Beth Estes of Nashville, Tenn.; and two great-grandchildren, Hayden Herndon and Haley Herndon, both of Cave City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ulyess Estes, William "Bill" Estes and James Calvin "J.C." Estes; and five sisters, Jessie Hall, Gladys Raulston, Elsie Neeley, Loretta Middendorf and Olivia Kersey.
Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Sunday at Maxville Cemetery, located north of Cave City, with Ron Canard officiating. Arrangements were by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Dennis Rogers, Kevin Bristow, Ryan Herndon, Dane Womack, Byron Bristow and John Ables.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Andy Davidson and Dr. Tom Cummins.
