Elsie T. Neely, 92, of Salem died Sept. 1, 2003, at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville, N.C.

Born Dec. 4, 1910, in Agnos, she was the daughter of John Kinchen Estes and Ada Melinda Heath Estes.

She married to Roy W; Neely Feb. 21, 1949, in Agnos and to this union one son was born. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law; Billy John and Mary Ellen Neely of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Roy Estes of Cave City; a sister, Olevia Kersey of Port Arthur, Texas; a sister-in-law, Mattie Estes of Mammoth Spring; three grandchildren; Jennifer Fulton and husband, Michael, of Fayetteville, N.C., Laura Grant and husband, Robert, of Summerville, S.C., and Steven Neely of Summerville, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Rachel Reynolds and Valarie Grant; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 6, 1971; three brothers; Ullyss, Bill and J.C. Estes; three sisters; Gladys Raulston, Jessie Hall and Loretta Middendorf; and her parents.

The funeral was Sept. 6 at Agnos Church of Christ. Burial was at Agnos Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
