Ed E. Voice, 80, of Decatur, Ill., died 8:20 a.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Heartland Health Care Center, Decatur, Ill.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, Ill., with visitation from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, at the funeral home. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, Ill.
Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church or Millikin Dance Team (In memory of Ed Voice).
Ed was born March 7, 1932, in Du Quoin, Ill., the son of William Henry and Nina Boll Voice. He married Emma Jean VanHoorebeke on June 5, 1955.
Ed was a member of Central Christian Church. He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 35 years in Production Control. Ed won first place in the U.S. Open National Table Tennis in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean of Decatur, Ill.; children Karen (Mike) Gagnon of Decatur, Ill. and Douglas Voice of Mukilteo, Wash.; grandchildren Chrissy Largent, Kim Gagnon, Amy Gagnon, Aaron Voice; great grandchildren Patrik and Maddy; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William "Bud" and Charles and sisters, Lola and Martha.
The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland and DMH 5th floor for all their care and compassion given to Ed.
