Gary Jose Browning, 44, of Sykesville, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001 at Carroll County Hospital, Westminster.

Born March 4, 1956, in Baltimore, he was the son of James Browning of Westminster, and the late Freda Wilt Browning.

He was a department manager for Giant supermarket.

He was an avid hunter and also a member of the National Rifle Association.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are sister Kim Lucinda Benge of Fruitland; brothers Terry James Browning of Sykesville and Tim Wayne Browning of Fillmore, Calif.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Boal Funeral Home, 111 Church St. Westernport, with the Rev. Dallas Bunch officiating. Interment will be in the Philos Cemetery, Westernport.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
